This card was made for the new "Mini Catalog" swap. I wasn't going to participate in this swap since I didn't pre-order any image stamps from the new mini catalog. But I was able to borrow a set and ran with it. I needed it for the shoebox swap so I figured I would just use it for this swap too!
I may have to breakdown and buy this set. It's so cute and easy to work with. Plus it's not very expensive at all. And I can use it for some recipe pages I want to do too! I know I'll get more use out of it than I first thought.

To state the obvious here, I used the apple stamp (just in case you didn't think it looked like an apple!!!!LOL) from the new "Tart & Tangy" set. I used the "direct to rubber" technique. I just colored directly on the rubber with my marker. Once you are done coloring you "huff" on it to get a bit of moisture from your breath on it to keep the ink wet. I made 16 of these and only touched the rubber to my lip twice!!! At least it was red and it was on my lip!!! LOL After you huff on it you just stamp like you normally would. Then you punch out the circle and add it on top of the punched out scallop.
On a folded piece of Real Red card stock I added a small piece (about 1 3/4") of decorative paper. Under that I added a strip of white I hand scalloped using the corner rounder punch with the guide removed. Doing 16 of them sure made a mess on my workroom floor! Those things just like to fly!!! LOL
I added a piece of red grosgrain ribbon to hide where the decorative paper and the white scalloped paper meet.
The words were done using the new "Full of Life" word set. I just used a black marker over the words "Best Friend" on one of the stamps. I stamped the image on white card stock and punched it out with the oval punch. I used the larger oval punch for the back layer. It is an easy card to make and to assemble too. I think the part that took the longest was the hand scalloping. But it was so worth it!!!
This is a very simple and quick card. It is also a pretty versatile card. I can see this being used for many occasions, including the family summer picnic!!!
