As in UUUUGLY!!! This was not the card that was in my head. I struggled for a while with this card and then just gave in to the direction it was going. I was looking for a more bright and vivid card. It didn't happen here!!!
I was working with the "Afternoon Tea" decorative papers and the "Garden Whimsy" set by Stampin' Up!
If you could see the card I had imagined you'd understand why I'm not liking this but no one likes to go there, it's a pretty scary place!!! LOL I actually started out with the other side of the striped paper. It had a pretty butterfly on it and it was in the Groovy Guava color. The card somehow got turned over to the Soft Sky colors and the striped side of the decorative papers. I think I need to stay away from the decorative papers for a little while!!! LOL
I'm not sure what occasion I would use this card for. Birthday, Sympathy or Thank you. It's too drab for a Mother's Day or Get Well Card.
Thank you SO much for stopping by,
Wanda
It's not ugly at all! It may not be what you envisioned but I think it looks great and would make an excellent sympathy card. It's subtle in its beauty :-)
ReplyDeleteWanda, my goodness you are beating yourself up for nothing. This card is gorgeous and would make a wonderful Sympathy, Thank You, BD, or even Mother's Day card. This is soft and warm and gives a feeling of comfort. What else could a Mom ask for? Some of my greatest creations as stated by some of my fan club members were so far off from what I invisioned initially.
ReplyDeleteWanda it is a very pretty subtle card, it may not have been what you were going for but I do like the colors.

Wanda, IT is NOT drab. It is soft...there is a big difference. I love the soft look you accompolished. Now, take back that UGH part....LOL. If you dislike it that much, put it in the mail to me and I will enjoy it for lots of days to come......LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jackie,I can't imagine
ReplyDeletewhat the one in your head looks like if this one isn't to your liking. It's gorgeous!!!
I think its very pretty , Not ugly at all!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's not ugly. The card would be a great sympathy card. It's calming.
ReplyDeleteIt may not be what you had in mind, but in my mind it is beautiful. I think the pretty ribbon and thed punch of color on the the flower make it a very happy card.
ReplyDeleteHappy stamp day!
LOL! I don't know what you had in your head, but this is pretty, as I see it. I do understand though how frustrating it is when it does not turn out as I have envisioned it.
ReplyDeleteThis card IS NOT ugly! I think its pretty!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Lovely, serene & thoughtful.... Those are the words that came to mind as I viewed your card! Stand proud, Wanda!!! You've created another winner!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, this is beautiful! It has a nostalgic, big-white-farmhouse-with-a wrap-around-porch feel - so comfortable and warm! I just love it and only hope I could duplicate the look. Susan :-)
ReplyDeleteI like it, it is not ugly. Funny thing how sometimes we all struggle, and what we don't like, others do...but at the same time we really like a card, and others don't. Great thing about creativity....Okay I rambled...but I like your card!!!
ReplyDeleteDrab is such an ugly word. I say "muted tones" - and I LOVE muted tones....so I really like this card.

I would like to know what UUUUGGGLLLYYY! really looks like. I love the card. Especially the way the brown brings out the blues! Great card! kt
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? The moment I opened up your blog today, that card instantly caught my eye and I went WOWZA:)
ReplyDeleteI actually like the card a lot--the colors are beautiful together!! I can't wait to use the same colors.
ReplyDeleteIt is really funny when you make a card that you don't line and everyone else likes it. I thought the same thing. I just got the afternoon Tea paper and when I saw your card, I thought, "hmmm, I'm going to have to case this one".
