I am not a big fan of buying a stamp set that has one specific theme. I occasionally get sucked in by the cuteness of a themed stamp set but I try to work with it so it will allow me to use it for more than it was intended for.
I purchased the new Stampin' Up! "Happy Heart Day" set because I thought it was SO adorable. The set does have a "Thank You" that can be used with any other image from any stamp you want. The elephant, even though it has hearts on it, can be used for a friendship card. Masking off the "Happy Heart Day" on the mouse one you can use it for a lot of occasions including birthdays, Mother's Day and Get Well. So the only stamp in this set that I felt limited me was the one that actually said "Happy Valentine's Day." And that was the little tag one.
SO with that in mind I took Butterfly one and stamped my image on Very Vanilla card stock using black Staz On ink. I used my blender pen and a Ruby Red marker and colored it in. I colored the body of the butterfly in using the chocolate chip marker. I wanted a longer "thank you" on my card so I used the words from the "Artfully Asian" set.
I got the layout for this card from Kwernerdesign Blog. Scroll down to "tutorials" on the right and it's in that group about half way down. It's a very easy card layout. And not only is it easy, it's a quick card to make. And with that in mind I'd better quick make up about a dozen of them. I need to get them out in the mail by the end of the week!!!
I hope you all had a VERY wonderful Christmas.
Thanks SO much for stopping by,
Wanda
