Ok, I finally got the cards done for my sister-in-law's birthdays. They are not as pretty as the ones I made for my mother-in-law to give to them but that's ok.
I did like making this card because it was actually quick and simple. I finally used my Aida Cloth background stamp. I've had it for a LONG time now and haven't used it at all. I should challenge myself to take the stamp sets out I have not used and actually use them. Imagine that??? What a novel idea. Using the sets you haven't opened yet!!!
I stamped the whole image in Purely Pomegranate and then took a blender pen and "erased" the color off the stem. I added it back in with the Garden Green marker. I waned to do the direct to rubber technique here but there is no Purely Pomegranate marker. This technique worked surprisingly well!! After I got the green on I huffed on it and stamped the image. The corners were punched and the edges were sponged. I also punches and sponged the edges on the Aida Cloth piece too. The Happy Birthday came from the "God's Blessings" set. I wanted some nice straight words to go along the side of the image. The Purely Pomegranate bow just seemed to finish off the card. Quick and sweet!!! I like that and with this busy week I needed that!!!
Thank you for stopping by,
Wanda

Wanda, that is a great idea to use the blender pen to remove color! I always use a Q-tip and it never quite gets it all! Thanks for the tip....maybe I should say "B-tip"!
