I have quite a few thank you cards I need to make and send out. And not to mention some birthdays I forgot last month too. Summer is such a busy time that I tend to not look at my calendar as closely as I should and I miss a birthday or two along the way. Then the card becomes a "Belated Birthday Card!"
This card was a pretty quick card and VERY easy to make. I used the decorative papers by Stampin' Up! For the background of the card I used the small "Fast Flowers" wheel. Boy once you use the big wheels and see how much area they cover you really hate to go back to the small ones!! The main card is in SO Saffron and so is the color if the ink I wheeled on. Then I added the decorative paper (cut 2" x 5 1/2") and taped it to a layer (cut 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"). I stamped the bird and then cut off the words. I could have taped it off or masked it but it was just easier to stamp the whole thing and cut off the words. I layered it with So Saffron and then More Mustard. The More Mustard makes the Saffron colors just pop.
I stamped the bird on watercolor paper using black Staz-on ink. I colored the flower with a So Saffron marker and outlined it with the More Mustard marker. The bird was colored with More Mustard and a blender pen. I added a little more color to the bottom of the birds belly just using the marker directly on the paper. I colored the stem and leaf using Sage Shadow and I shaded the entire image using Bashful Blue and a blender pen. Before I assembled it I added a brand from the Rich Regals brad container and then I assembled the card. The word "thanks" comes right from the stamp. I just used a black marker and colored over only that word, stamped it and then punched it out with the oval punch. I layered that on top of a larger oval and affixed it to the card!!! It's now ready for me to write in and send off!!!
Thank you for visiting my blog,
Wanda
