This is the first of the five Stamp Camp items. For this project you will need a bar of soap. We purchased Ivory soap. It seems to be the best choice for all skin types. It's best to be safe than sorry there! Remove the soap from the wrapper and wrap it in cling wrap. We used Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White card stock by Stampin' Up! The image is "Love Matters" from the Stampin' Up! Winter Mini Catalog. You'll also need the Basic Black ink pad to stamp the image and Mellow Moss and Pretty in Pink markers to color in the flowers and leaves. And you'll need a paper crimper and Snail Tape.
On this sample the sides are stamped with "all things grow with love" from the same set. It's best to wrap your cut card stock around the bar of soap to find the sides. Stamp the sides and then crimp the card stock.
The size of your card stock will depend on your bar of soap. Wrap your card stock around the bar of soap to see how much you will need. Add an inch more in length to the Pretty in Pink piece and take 1/2" off in the width. You need an extra inch because the crimper causes you to lose a little bit of length. Now it's just a matter of stamping, cutting, coloring and assembling! Simple as that but very fun! This is a nice gift for teachers too.
TIP: If you are going to make these to sell you need to be sure to copy the ingredients off the bar of soap. I like to use clear return address labels for that. I actually type them up and run them in my address label program! And be sure to give credit to the stamping companies you use. To sell these © Stampin’ Up! needs to appear on the product.
