I found a picture of my husband wearing his daddy's boots and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! When our son was about that same age he had is daddy's boots on and I just HAD to take a photo. I'm SO glad I did. Never did it dawn on me that years down the road I'd be doing something like this with it.

These are not the chipboard coasters. I used Watercolor Board. You can find this in the painting section of your local craft stores. I had gotten mine at Michael's. It's very thick and sturdy. It did fit in the Fiskar's paper cutter but it took a bit of pressure and a few passes to cut all the way through. I took the Stampin' Up! snips and cut the corners round. The pieces would not fit in the corner rounder. None of the corners are exactly alike but that's ok. After all it is handmade!

First I took out the hinges and set them in place. (I got them at Menards a couple of weeks ago when they had the 17% off all you can fit in the bag. Such a deal!) I actually used a nail from the hinges and hammered it into the watercolor board. I just wanted to make sure I had all of the holes ready for the hinges. Then I covered the watercolor board with decorative paper and set my pictures on where I wanted them to go. Added a bit of flair and let it all dry. I used my computer to do the dates on the tabs on the sides of the frame and the same for the "Like Father Like Son" words in the long strip on the left. It was very difficult to stay away from flowers and bows. Guy items are very hard to come by, so I made due with what I had. I like the way it turned out. Though hubby wasn't all that thrilled. When I ran across his photo he had told me to throw it out. Like I was ever going to do that. Now it's on the Internet for the WHOLE world to see! He's SO lucky to have me!
This is so cute!!
