Here is another note holder like the snowman ones I posted back in December. I chose this decorative paper because it actually matched the paper that came with the note holder. Unlike the snowman ones where I removed the blush colored paper and replaced it with white paper that I had to cut to fit. This was SO much easier since I didn't have to do any extra paper cutting! I wish Michael's would still carry these. Hmmm, I may just have to come up with a pattern for this!

Here It Is!
Here's the photo you've all been waiting for. There's a couple packages of fun fibers, a couple packages of embellishments and an Inky Antics rubber stamp! Some "stuff" to have fun with!!! I will have my son draw the name when he gets home later today. I'll be posting the winner then! Thanks to all of you for your nice comments about my blog and good luck to you!
It's That Time
I have surpassed the 5000 hits mark, thanks to all of you who stop by to see what's new! Now what I wouldn't give for a pair of AA batteries for my camera. I was tempted to take the ones out of the TV remote control last night but we all know we just don't go there!!! Imagine having to get off your butt to turn a TV channel?? Unheard of! And personally I don't think those batteries are all that great either. SO, I'm going to venture out in the cold and I mean cold!! It's SO cold there is no temperature right not. It's zero! Brrrr! But I guess that's what makes us Minnesotans so hardy!!! I will post a photo of the "Candy Blog" give away items when I return. In the meantime there's still time for you to comment on the blog in the "It's Getting To Be About That Time" post. Stay tuned!!

What To Do With Those Extra Cards!
I wanted to give a friend BIG cookie but I wasn't sure how I wanted to pack it. I was planning on baking some cookies and I got the idea to use the container the Lemon Peel came in. I am one who rarely throws anything away. And see why I don't?? It comes in handy someday!!!! I made a batch of Monster Cookies and I made sure I made a big one to fit inside the container. One thing nice about Monster Cookies is you can work with them while they are still hot. I wasn't happy with the shape so while it was still hot on the cookie sheet I pushed the edges in to form a more perfect circle. I removed it from the cookie sheet and let it cool. While it was cooling I wanted to make a nice top for the cover. I had some Christmas cards left (totally CASE'd from Splitcoast!) and I took out my Coluzzle and cut the circle to fit the lid. First I printed out the recipe in the lower section of the card stock. I folded the card stock in half and I took the Coluzzle and moved it up just a bit so it didn't cut a complete circle. I wanted to make a flap so the recipe could be on the inside and the leftover card on the top. It only took two tries and I got it! And this is the results! Now had I not been in a hurry to get it done I would have decorated the inside a bit. A little sponging on the edges would add a lot plus a small item rubber stamped might have given that bottom area a little finesse! But for a quick item it turned out ok!
It's Getting to be About That Time!
As I see so many other bloggers doing this I feel that I must follow suit. This blog, "My Creative Corner" is getting close to hitting the 5000 hits mark! SO in keeping with the tradition I will be giving something away. I'm thinking it will be some fancy fibers and some card/scrapbook embellishments! I'll post a picture later today.
Just add your comment to this post. Tell me what your favorite thing is about my blog and your name will be entered in the drawing to be held in a day or two (after the hit counter surpasses 5000). Your comments will be published here on this posting!

Very Punny Tic-Tac-Toe Game
I used my empty tin from the Accents & Elements Sweet Nothings die-cuts found in the Stampin' Up! Winter Mini catalog. After coloring the cows and pigs I adhered them to the larger flat decorative glass pieces with Crystal Effects. I punched out round magnets from a magnetic canvas sheet and I adhered them to the backs of the card stock with Crystal effects. For the game board I stamped the lollipop with the stick masked. I punched them out and taped them to the white card stock which was done by using a square punch! I taped the white squares to the black card stock and it formed my grid. I made a belly band using the Sweet Nothings die-cuts. For the words on the front I ran the die-cut through my computer before I had punched it out.
Don't you think a small barn or bales of hay would be SO cute on the game board instead of the lollipop circle stamps?
Please feel free to leave your comments or email me with any questions. My email address is found in the "view my complete profile" link.

Pint Size Milk Carton with Recipe and Pattern Links
Ok, here it is! A smaller version of the first milk carton I posted a few days ago. This one is shorter and it comes with a pattern!! Oh and a recipe for Milk Bath. I made this milk carton the same way I did with the other one. I used the eraser end of a brand new #2 pencil for the spots. I used the Stampin’ Up! sets, Label Classics and Very Punny. I used a one inch piece of black card stock for the band and I ran it through the paper crimper first. Make sure you place the milk bath in the carton before you begin sealing up the top. For this one I only glued half of the top shut. The other half I used a punch and tied a ribbon. I thought it would look nicer and be easier to open and it wouldn’t ruin the carton once it’s opened.
Milk Bath Recipe
1 cup Fine Sea Salt
2 cups powdered milk
4 to 8 mL desired fragrance
Measure out fine Sea Salt, add fragrance. Mix well. Add milk powder and blend, making sure all ingredients are well combined.

Altered Bulletin Board
This is an altered bulletin board I had gotten at Michael's in their clearance section for $1.00!!! I used the Spring Flowers double sided decorative paper by Stampin' Up! I used their Anywhere Glue Stick to adhere the paper to the frame. I removed the original cardboard designs and replaced them with pieces from the On board Accents by Stampin' Up! I covered them with the decorative paper, sanded the edges smooth and glued the thumb tacks back on. I replaced their note holder with a spiral one and I covered a pencil with the decorative paper and cut two slits in the cork board to pull the ribbon through to hold the pencil. It measures around 10" x 14", pretty nice size for $1.00!!! I will be using these at my customer appreciation event! It was a very quick and easy project to do!

Very Punny Pig
I thought I'd try my hand at a mini composition book! I saw a few on Splitcoast and thought they were just adorable! For this project I bought a pig pen (still makes me laugh!!!) at Target's Dollar Spot. That store must love all of us stampers!!! I removed the pig from the top of the pen. Not an easy thing to do but it can be done! There is a spiral wire in the bottom of the pig but with a little tugging it comes out. I took a regular #2 pencil and cut it in half. Personally I think half was too short so the next one I will cut the pencil at 3/4 it's original size. Then I covered the pencil with decorative paper using the Anywhere Glue Stick from Stampin' Up! Fabulous item!!! I took a pliers and pinched the edges a bit on the end of the pencil so it would fit into the bottom of the pig better. In the future I will just run it through the pencil sharpener for a second just to shave the edges a bit. I glued the pencil in place and then returned the Marabou feathers to the bottom of the pig to hide where it was attached. Word of warning here. That type of feather leaves little feather pieces flying around for days. Just when you thought you had them all vacuumed up one will float by while you're working!!!
Now onto the composition book. I covered it with the decorative papers. I used the tag punches and a piece of the Hodgepodge Hardware. I did end up gluing the ribbon down because the hardware kept flopping forward. It could use a little more finesse (maybe on the next one!).

It was a fun item to make (other than the feathers flying! When I removed the pig from the pen it looked like molting season in my workroom!!!).

Very Punny Milk Carton
I kept seeing these fabulous milk cartons on Splitcoast and just had to make one for myself. It was SO much fun!!
After printing and cutting out the pattern I had a bit of difficulty trying to figure out how the top closed. But once I got that figured out the rest was smooth sailing!
I took a brand new pencil with a perfect eraser and used the eraser to stamp the dots on my card stock! Then I assembled the carton. After I saw it assembled I knew exactly what else I wanted to put on it. I took a 1 inch piece of black card stock and crimped it. Then I taped it in place. I was going to do the cow on a tag but I decided to put it in a frame and cut the frame out. and tape it in place. The words were done with a label maker. I figured they would be much straighter if I did them that way then printing them on the computer and then trying to stamp exactly where I wanted the frame to go. Then I dug around in my notebooks to find my recipe for milk bath. I whipped up a batch of that, poured some in a baggie, tied it shut and put it in the milk carton!! It was SO fun and I just loved every minute of making it!

Seeing Spots
WOW, my first featured card! I have a few rolling in the slider on the right side of the screen but I haven't actually posted one as a feature card. SO, here it is!! It's just a basic red, white and black card.
I saw a number of cards on the Splitcoaststamper's website with this circle layout and I thought it was so stunning that I had to try it and this is what I came up with! It was a LOT of fun making it and it didn't require a whole lot of talent to do it! The red background is stamped with Versa-Mark and the smaller "Seeing Spots" stamp by Stampin' Up! They didn't show up very well in the photo but if you look real hard you can see it. I used a Coluzzle to cut the circles and the Mat Pack and a gel pen for the dots. The words "Happy Birthday" are from the Stampin' Up! "Viola" set!

Tags & More Snowman Candy Pull
Ok, this is my last candy pull for a while! I have been busy making other "things" of which I'll be posting on here soon. I have even been working on some cards!!! Shocker, huh?
This candy pull is done just like the other ones posted. I don't remember where I got the snowflake brad but it originally was silver. I heated it up and dipped it in white embossing powder and viola a white snowflake! If you'd like detailed instructions for the candy pull and you're a subscriber to my blog I'd be more than happy to email them out to you.
Happy Stamping!

Haute Couture Candy Pull
Here is another candy pull I made using the Haute Couture retired hostess stamp set from the 2005-2006 Stampin' Up! Catalog & Idea Book. This has to be one of the more simpler one's I've made. I just colored the dress in with the Taken with Teal marker, used the Liquid Glue over the dress and sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds. Simple as that! I did some in Ruby Red for Valentine's Day gifts last year. These were a LOT of fun! I tried to upload the PDF file pattern and instructions for this but I am unable to.

Santa Tissue Holder
Another Tissue Holder! No stamping required for this one! I made the holder out of Real Red card stock, I tore some Whisper White and added some punched out black dots for buttons. The belt is black grosgrain ribbon and the buckle is from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit. VERY simple and quick to make!
Thanks for stopping by!
