Home to Roost, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration, Note Card

Today I wanted to play with the "Home to Roost" 2019 Sale-a-Bration set but I wanted to find a card that would be worthy of the time I put into it.  I'm saying that because I'm working on limited time today and wanted something quick but something that didn't look like I threw it together.

This card took a little more time than I had thought but it was because of my messy worktable. I misplaced my stitched die. I had to go over to my Blends pens and actually sort out the ones that weren't Blends so I could use all current markers.  I did learn that the Blendabilities have a square cap on the end and the Blends are more oval. Why did I not notice that before?

This was a fun card to make and I was going to make two but I had put the wrong die on the card stock and cut a scalloped square in Whisper White card stock.  So once I got all the materials needed I started in.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. You can use any color you want because the "Wood Texture" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) covers the whole front.  There's lots of papers in that pack and many of them will work on this background.

I cut my DSP 4" x 5-1/4" and I taped it in place on the card base.

I used the largest stitched die and cut a Whisper White piece.  This piece measures 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" and the layer behind it is Basic Black card stock and measures 2-3/4" x 2-3/4".  I the rooster image from the "Home to Roost" set. I set the rooster up in the Stamparatus and stamped it.  I was glad I did. Sometimes I have problems stamping an image for the very first time.  It's like there is a factory film on the image. So setting it in the Stamparatus, I was able to reink and restamp it.  And not it's a very nice darkly stamped image.  I colored the rooster using Blends markers, Bermuda Bay (light and dark), Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie (light), Soft Suede (light) and Real Red.

I stamped the words on a 3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock.  I stamped them using Versa Mark and I embossed it with white embossing powder.  I layered it with a 7/8" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  I taped the layers together.

I took some hemp twine and made a bow. I tied a knot in the bow and added a glue dot to the back to hold it in place.

I set the rooster layer in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  It was a fun card to make and very easy.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
